Tlhomeso Timbers commenced operations in Gaborone in 2000. We opened another branch in Francistown in 2007. At Tlhomeso Timbers, we have the enviable reputation of being the only truss manufacturer in Botswana, that is certified by the South African Institute for Timber Construction. This certification guarantees our customers that roofs supplied by Tlhomeso Timbers are strictly designed and manufactured to South African and Botswana codes of practice. They also ensure that only timber that meets the laid down standards is used for our trusses. Our trusses carry a 25-year warranty, ensuring that they have been designed, manufactured according to the relevant codes.
In both Gaborone and Francistown we are using the Mitek Tee Tracker to fabricate our roof trusses. The gantry systems were imported from the US and ensure a great quality truss. In both of our factories we use the first fully computerized TCT linear saws in Africa, ensuring a perfect cut and therefore a high quality truss. We also have installed a “sense a plate detector”, a fully computerized system to ensure correct plate placement, and this is also a first in Africa.
Ultra-Span is a pre-fabricated light gauge steel roof truss system that is both lightweight and compact for economical transportation costs. Assembly of trusses can be completed with only a drill with a clutch and a cut-off saw . Ultra-Span is backed by a professional engineering and estimating department. Engineered designs are calculated using state of the art in-house developed software and provide economical roofing solutions. Ultra-Span can be used in buildings from 2m to 35m span
The eCo Permfix collar nail is specifically designed for use with eCo products such as truss hangers, hurricane clips, bracing strap, speed brace etc.
The shaft of the nail is serrated as a standard ring shank nail and MII is forged on the head for easy identification. The nail is blue DiSTek coated for superior corrosion resistance.
The eCo Permfix nail has been tested in a laboratory under controlled conditions and has proved to attain a vastly increased holding capacity over ordinary nails. The thickened collar ensures that the head does not break-off during application which is often the case when using clout nails.
Eco Heavy Duty type H Cleats are designed to ensure sound connections at truss and girder junctions. These cleats can be specified in a variety of different configurations to suit different loads and structural arrangements.
Three alternative flanges to cater for either 5, 8, or 12 bolts of 12 mm diameter are available and long flange plate, designed to prevent rotation of the incoming truss or girder. The length of the bolts must be chosen to suit the thickness of the girder, truss and washers to be connected.
Incoming girders or trusses must be securely strapped to the main girder with eCo Bracing strap or punched eCo Hoop iron.
